Every year at DCC, Hispanic heritage month is celebrated in October. There are many events that transpire through the month to celebrate Hispanic heritage, and it all culminates on the last day of the month that classes are attended. The Day of the Dead is celebrated with a concert put on by the DCC Jazz band. The band- including conductor Christopher Brellochs- all dress up as candy skulls and play several latin tunes together. The crowd always loves the performance, along with the free food that comes with it. The performers have plenty of fun getting out of traditional concert attire and being able to wear ridiculous costumes to play their instruments.
